Another month has come and gone since my Millie was born and I think we're finally starting to get down into a routine.
We're averaging about three naps a day now, and I can't believe it but- she's still sleeping through the night. She typically goes down by nine, then I carry her upstairs with me when I go to bed around midnight. I wake her up just enough so she'll eat, and she goes right back to sleep within moments, until 6:45 or so. We’ve been so blessed in the sleep department.
Millie has always been such an aware baby. Even since birth she's always been wide-eyed and wandering. But the older she gets, the more aware she is. She's more intrigued by our faces and her surroundings. She stares at the ceiling fan as it turns and smiles at the bold poster hung above her bassinet. She's started to enjoy playing, and occasionally hits her twirling toys on her bouncer on purpose. It's been so fun watching her new reactions to the world around her.
We're still nursing and plan to for as long as we reasonably can. She’s eating a ton and weighing in at 11 pounds and 6 ounces! Our pediatrician seems to think she’s going to be a pretty big baby, and I can definitely see why!
She’s hitting her milestones so quickly. Which is funny because we’ve joked since she was in my belly, just how advanced she already was!
Thing's we've learned about Millie:
Loves toys that make noises!
Is obsessed with hair dryer white noise- it ends her fussing instantly!
Loves to blow bubbles.
Enjoys being worn (thanks Wildbird!)
Is a total water baby! Loves being in the water, and dipping her head back during bath time with mommy!
Loves laying on the floor, hates tummy time.
Has thunder thighs! Ha!
Drools like crazy.
Mill, Millie, Em, Emmy, Muffin
Is holding her head up quite well now.
Responds to noises.
Mimics certain sounds back to us.
Cooing like crazy.
Is discovering her hands/feet and gaining better control of them.
Recognizes faces, and voices.
Gets bored if idle for too long.
Can briefly soothe herself.
Is in beginning stages of trying to laugh.
Every single day I find myself staring at Millie wondering how on earth I got so lucky. She is the light of my life and by far my greatest accomplishment. I can’t wait to see what more months have in store.
