Now that Em is more mobile, it’s feeling a little harder to stay on top of these updates (and laundry, dishes, and just about every other responsibility.)
This last month was a really fun one. Her personality is really starting to shine through. This month was also her very first Halloween, which was so fun to do with her! Crafty mom stuff is my fave!
Millie now weighs thirteen pounds and twelve ounces and is over 25 inches long! That puts her in the 38th percentile for weight and 71st percentile for height! Apparently she’s not as chub as she looks!
We began sleep training this month, and so far it’s going really well. She’s still got a lot of learning to do when it comes to self soothing, but I don’t mind soothing her. I’ll only get to do it for so long. She’s started on a really set nap schedule of four naps a day, with a wake time of about 1.5/1.75 hours. We’ve been working hard to get a really calming night time routine going. I usually feed her, bring her upstairs to our bedroom with dimmed lights, change her into her jammies, and read/rock her until she’s calm, then place her in her crib. She almost always goes down very easily- but when she doesn’t, I’m a sucker and I nurse her to sleep. My favorite part of the night is her feeding time, when I scoop her up and bring her into bed with me. We’ve gotten some flak about our co-sleeping, but it works for us and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Our only real struggle lately is riding in the car. Millie has a total meltdown once she’s strapped into her carseat and realizes we’re going somewhere. We’re currently trying a combination of carseat toys and white noise, but I’m not convinced it’s making much of a difference. We’ll see.
Her pediatrician says she may be ready to begin solids, but I think we’re going to wait just a little bit longer, as I’d really like to do BLW.
She’s nearly crawling, and trying so hard to sit up lately! She’s a moving machine!
Thing's we've learned about Millie:
She is one of the very few babies in existence that hates the car.
Got mommy’s eczema (wahhhhh.)
Needs to be able to see what’s going on at all times.
Wants to crawl sooo badly!!!
Is growing interested in food.
Loves when you let her stand up.
Prefers tummy time to being on her back now.
Still hates getting dressed/undressed.
Mill, Millie, Emmy
Reaches for people.
Pushes herself straight up during tummy time.
Is now doing 'the worm’ as we call it- pushing herself around with just her feet.
Can sit straight up from a reclined position.
I’m just over here living my best life with my girl! Being her mom is my favorite thing!
